Wedding QR code ideas that guests actually use
A QR code is just a link people can scan. At a wedding, that’s useful in a handful of places, from the invitation to the dance floor. Here is where each one goes and what it should open.
On the invitation: RSVP
Put a code on the invitation or RSVP card that opens your RSVP form. Most wedding website builders include an RSVP page; a simple online form works too. Link the code to that page, and print the address underneath for guests who’d rather type it.
On the save-the-date: your wedding website
Travel, hotels, the schedule and the registry all live on the wedding website. A code on the save-the-date gets guests there without typing a long address.
On the tables: photo sharing
The most useful code on the day. Guests scan it and send you the photos and videos they took, straight into one album. UploadQR makes this code for free and prints table cards for you.
On the bar or the menu: the drinks and the playlist
A code next to the bar can open the cocktail menu, or a shared playlist where guests add songs for the dance floor.
Printing any of them
Print codes at least 3 cm (1.2 in) wide with a white margin around them, on matte paper so the venue lights don’t glare. Scan every code with a phone before you print the batch. And avoid code generators that make “dynamic” codes on a free trial: when the trial ends, the code can stop working, sometimes after the cards are printed.
Make your photo QR code
It takes about a minute, and you can print table cards straight away. Free for up to 100 photos.
Create your free QR codeQuestions
- How do I make a QR code for my wedding RSVP?
- Get the link to your RSVP page or form, then turn it into a QR code with any QR generator that makes static codes (they never expire). Test it with your phone before printing.
- Can one QR code do RSVP and photos?
- It can open a page that links to both, but separate codes work better: the RSVP one goes on the invitation months before, and the photo one on the tables on the day.
- Do wedding QR codes expire?
- Static codes don’t; they contain the link itself. Some generators make dynamic codes that redirect through their service and stop working when a subscription ends. UploadQR’s codes link straight to your album.
